Let it go Frozen

Making a glass drink with a frosty effect maximizes the chill affect in the drinks. Best way to achieve this effect would be to place the glass in the freezer before the photoshoot, make sure to use cotton gloves or hold the bottom to avoid fingerprints on the glass.

Make it Iced

Every drink is different, so it is important to keep in mind of the shape of ice necessary for the type of drink – whether it needs the shape to be round or square. Fake ice can also be used for clicking pictures but it is rather expensive but there is also cheap fake ice but depending on the transparency of the drink the type of fake ice must be used.

Frosty sugar rims

What is a cocktail without the sugar on the glass rim, the easiest way to apply sugar on the rims is to use lemon or lime, for harder sugar it is possible to use butter. For addition of colour opt the usage of food colouring or flavoured sugar.

Play with Lighting & Exposure

Lighting is key and depending on the how the light hits the drink can be the difference between a good and bad photo. Backlight or the backside light helps the transparent and semi-transparent drinks look wonderful and glistening. It helps add another dimension to the transparent drink. With good exposure the image of the drink is not too bright or too dark has it is seen in the texture of the highlights and shadows.
