5 equipments to make your food shots better

The Tripod

The Tripod is one of the main accessories in a photographer’s bag, it is the next thing to purchase after the camera and lens. If the shots are clicked using natural light, then the tripod is a must if you are wanting to use slower shutter speed. It’s a great advantage since it gives you the option to set up the shot and gives you the chance to make minute changes to the props while keeping your camera in the same place.

Tripod Arm

If you are aiming to have an overhead shot of your food, then the tripod arm attachment is a great investment. It allows the camera to get over to the top of your food and it stays there in one position which is rock steady so you don’t have to worry whether if it will tip over or knock your tripod accidentally.

5 in 1 Reflector

It is one of the very common accessories found in every photographer’s bag, but its usage is very multi-purposeful and a wonderful addition to your photography kit. The purpose of the reflector is that it offers you a way to reflect, diffuse or remove light allowing you to have the greater control of what light is doing. They come in very different sizes with 50 cm reflector being a good place to start for food photography as it allows you to place it in most tables.

The Bounce Card

The main usage of the bounce card is to give you the minute control over the light whereas you would struggle with a large reflector. Another really lowkey method is to use a piece of paper or a small mirror for beverage photography as it is great to bounce the light into just the section of the subject which you want to light.

The Mini Clamps

The clamps come in various shape and sizes but having few of them in the food photography kit is a real lifesaver. They have numerous amounts of uses from holding bounce cards in position to dangling your props down in places which wouldn’t be possible otherwise. They come at the price of a good coffee and is a real good investment in your food photography kit.
